A General Guide to Weapon Master

Weapon Master Discord

Pros
  • Great party synergy via Iron Strike’s additional 25% Critical Damage debuff (in a future update)
  • 1st Awakening is a great AoE superhold that can hold multiple enemies
  • 2nd Awakening is probably the BEST superhold in the entire game
  • Draw Sword and Lightning Draw Sword can clear entire rooms with ease
  • High speed playstyle with quick, pinpoint skill rotations
  • [Secret Sword Art] is a great DPS tool for when skills are on cooldown
  • Various play styles depending on weapon(s) of choice
Cons
  • Burst potential is low in comparison to pure damage dealing classes
  • Both Awakenings have high cooldowns, so holding ability is limited
  • 2nd Awakening takes a couple seconds to “summon” before you can hold
  • Relatively steep learning curve in terms of positioning and timing
  • Extremely popular class, so upgrades and gear can be expensive
  • Being a melee DPS class means you’re also more vulnerable to being counterattacked by enemies in close range

Frequently Asked Questions

What weapon should I use?

The answer to this question depends on three things:

  1. Your preferences in play style
  2. Your gear options and progress
  3. Your end-game goals and progress

Generally, you’ll want either a Lightsabre or a Zanbato if given a choice, whichever suits your play style. Ideally, you’d have both, so you can switch up your play styles to better suit the situation at hand.

If you’re preparing for Anton Raid, you can either grind for a Liberation weapon, purchase a Legendary weapon from the Auction Hall (Tarbaza Quaker, Brilliant Flame Saber, Slingshot Smash, Cherry Blossom Sword, Evil Sword Deathrender, etc.), or hope you get something usable from Hell Mode.

What Quest Legendary Set should I get?

Gracia 6-Set is definitely the strongest option in terms of damage potential, as it gives a large amount of Light Damage, as well as a powerful 6% Additional Light Damage.

However, Sea God’s 5-Set is also decently strong, giving a respectable amount of Water Damage and quite a bit of Additional Damage. More importantly, it leaves you with an extra equipment slot, if you have any notable Epic or Legendary gear to use.

As for the other sets, I personally wouldn’t bother with them.

#3

Does anyone know if WM gets nerfed or buffed in the upcoming kdnf patches?

#4

Nothing but straight buffs. iirc it’s like a net 30-45% dmg increase on everything.

WM also gain the benefit of increasing party crit dmg (replacing phys shred) and you don’t have to choose between the party support and skill dmg since you will have both at all times.

#5

Will the WM become DPS with that buff?

#6

I’d say we already are good as DPSes in the current global patch although it does take bit more gear than some other classes. The last balance change in the Origins patch gave us buffs across the board which further solidifies WM as a damage carry.

Also, what’s everyone planning on upgrading when we get raid in the coming weeks? Most of the kdnf omnis I’ve seen stick with continental and go Savior LS.

#7

Supercontinent Pants/Belt (with 3pc Radiant)
Supercontinent Shoulder (with Evil Rib Mail + Tibia Bone Shoes)
Supercontinent Shoes (with Evil Rib Mail)
Supercontinent Top
Savior Zanbato
Savior Lightsabre

Might consider skipping Zanbato and going straight for Lightsabre if we get the Anton Raid changes that prevent counterkilling Mateka though.

#8

Is that the optimal way to go about upgrading the pieces? I thought one would just save up until you could upgrade 3/5 and then do it.

#9

I don’t know if it’s the most optimal way to go about it, but 3pc Radiant is quite strong already, and the individual bonuses of the Supercontinent pieces are quite good.
I don’t know if Tibia Bone Boots are actually better than amp’d Radiant shoes, etc., but Evil Rib Mail is definitely quite strong.

#10

I know I asked this before Nexus went belly up for a week or 2, but what’s the most optimal non-buff plat you can run on wm? I see lightning draw sword, illusion sword dance, and weapon wielder’s zenith as the only plausible options. Can anyone help me figure this out?? ._.

#11

What’s a good swap setup for us to use?

#12

@Raiban
9pc Flawless Technique or Enigmatic Swordsman
Ancient Ruins Lightsabre (+1)
Halidom Top or Metal Line Top (+1) [and in the future, Supercontinent Top (+2)]

+3 Title
+1 Avatar Top
+1 Creature
+2 Platinum Emblems

is the ideal set-up, more or less.

@iammadeofpoo
Weapon Wielder’s Zenith is still the safest option.

#13

Also, if you can afford the legendary Merlin bead, would highly recommend getting it. It saves you on a plat or going from +3 title to +2.

#14

Guys do we have a discord for WM class ? im still learning and need tons of advices

#15

Can I get a link to this info?

#16

#17

Getting close to buying savior here. Do i get LS or Zan first?

#18

Zan is better now, LS will be arguably better down the line.

#19

Zan better right now and I think after the reinforcement changes LS gets about the same. Most of the kdnf Omnis I’ve looked at are using LS over zan.

#20

Anyone know if Trinity Eternia resets 2a? The description makes it sound like it does

#21

does anyone here know how much is ancient LS going for right now ? i’m dying for one, hopefully it won’t be like 300m
