INTRO

Hello, and welcome. If you are reading this then you obviously have a bit of interest on thief. Or more specifically one of the subclass (and I think the most interesting personally), Rogue. I love Rogue and I’ve played since the class came out. I’ve made bunch of Rogues in my lifetime, including from other regions as well (such as KDNF, CDNF). I’m so obsessed with this class that I actually made a guide for it. YOU came to the right guide! This guide is about Rogue, one of the fastest and quickest class in-game. Rogue is one of the subclass from theif and it is specialized in using dagger / dual blade with buff increasing your critical damage. Moreover, since it has all percent damage skills , reinforcing your weapon will significantly increase your dps. There is also something called ‘Contact point system’ that you will learn later in my guide. This is one of the major dps you can bring out from Rogue. However, like every other game it has its difficulties, such as being squishy, and very steep learning curve. Nevertheless, the whole point of this guide is to give you some information, and how to use some skills so you can destroy everything in front of you. Also it will also introduce new changes from second awakening (Alcyone all the way yo lol) and how much it improved from pre-2nd awakening to post-2nd awakening.

    Just a little bit extra info about me. I have made around 6 Rogues? I lost count haha. 5 Rogues pre 2nd and 1 brand new Rogue post 2nd. She is my “main” character even tho it may seem I play my alts more ;)

Rogue rework changes

Rogue rework changes

[​IMG]Swiftness You can now get CP by cancelling any skill, CP gain count is fixed by 1, Whenever you hit the enemy you can obtain certain amount of CP by doing ‘hits’ ; Once you have enough hits, it converts into 1 CP. SP consumption (20 to 10)

[​IMG]Hit end You can now use hit end with other skills that you could not. Dual blade mastery affect removed (aka bleeds / charging up skills)

[​IMG]Dagger mastery Attack speed increased, Skill cooldown-time decreased. Swiftness becomes more effective (meaning easier to generate CP with hits) , SP consumption (20 to 10)

[​IMG]Double piercer Damage increased by 15%, you can use Hit end.

[​IMG]Bandit cut Damage increase by 34%, it is now percentage skill, removed the dual blade mastery effect, along with dagger mastery’s CP consumption decrease

[​IMG]Sword dance Damage increased by a lot, it is now percentage skill, the ‘additional hit’ now changed into hit end, Dagger mastery’s effect (you can cancel your other skill to sword dance) became given skill ability, bleeding effect removed.

[​IMG]Chainsaw Damage increased by 25%, you can use hit end, range increased, Dual blade mastery’s effect ( range increase and bleeding effect ) removed.

[​IMG]Hurricane Damage increase by a lot, movement speed increased, hurricane’s hit end launch str has been reduced meaning hurricane doesn’t send mobs into space , dagger mastery’s effect removed

[​IMG]Vertical spiral Damage increased by 14%, you can use hit end, Downward slash’s shock wave will be percentage, dual blade mastery’s effect (you can charge the skill) removed.

[​IMG]Lightning arrow You can use hit end, shockwave is now percentage, pre-requisite skill removed, damage increase by a lot, the damage of shockwave increased by the height is no longer effective.

[​IMG]Sonic assault Damage increased by 8%, will work the same against immobile enemies, hit end animation will now be a downward slash, hit end’s activation requirement removed, Dual blade mastery’s effect removed.

[​IMG]Excel Strike Damage increased by 36%, skill will work the same against immobile enemies, skill’s overall speed increased.

[​IMG]Moon arc buff will be activated by 100% chance.

[​IMG]Silver Stream Finisher is now percentage, duration of skill changed to 60 seconds, and cooldown time to 120 seconds, buff will always be active once you hit the enemy, basic attack in stream mode will have more hit count, finisher will be affected by hit end, finisher will not be used even if silver stream ends.

[​IMG]Chain saw rush Decreased the level of the pre-requisite skill, shockwave’s attack became percentage, skill will still be active even when the rotating blade doesn’t hit the enemy. You can use hit end, removed the effect of dagger and dual blade mastery.

[​IMG]Aslant spiral Decreased the level of the pre-requisite skill, decreased the spin damage, increased the damage of shockwave, shockwave is percentage, you can use the skill in mid-air, you can use hit end, removed the effect of dagger and dual blade mastery, shockwave damage increase based on the height is now removed.

TL;DR

Summary of the above

Swiftness changed to produce CP when you hit dudes with either skills or auto attack

Hurricane w/ passive pure percent , bleed removed , launch str reduced don’t send stuff flying. Passive daggers now hit OTG

Both weapon type’s major differences get removed. Instead DB is HUGE BURST with HE damage, While dagger has shorter cd and better cp gain from hits.

Chain saw rush pure percent has HE effect

Aslant spiral pure percent has HE effect

Diving arrow is just needed at level 1 no longer a pre req for lighting arrow

Lighting arrow pure percent and the sliding across the screen no longer a thing you stay in place

Excel strike sped up by 3x works on immobile for all hits

Sonic assault works on immobile for all hits

Silver stream Finsher doesn’t happen unless you turn it on again, all percent

Sword dance now effected be HE

Chain saw/Shining cut/Double piercer have HE

Main use generates 1 CP upon canceling out of a X / Juggle

A downward kick that kicks em a few times press Z to bounce the enemy on the floor lessen effect on SA / mob. Grants super armor on use. Level 1

Main use would be to generate 1 contact point

The get out of jail free card. Works like Phase Shift for female mage’s but a tad worse. You teleport in the air and leave a clone that taunts monsters around it at the floor. Can still be interrupted as there is a bit of a cast time so time it right. level 1 utility

Magic based fire elemental slash forward. level 1 utility

Main use to set Delezie element to fire / kill mobs that only die via fire after you kill them. Can also be used to feed the goblin machine in goblin kingdom OV room 2 if you don’t have a good feeder.

Slash forward dealing damage can also be used in mid air. At bare minimal you want level 10 or Max While I do list this skill as a max it is one of the 1st places to drop SP use on if you are running contracts or tight on SP and the damage is somewhat lacking on this skill.

The spam skill of Rogue. With the addition of Shining Spark (passive) able to slash 3 times max.

Grab enemy appear behind can be used to get some nice interrupts in level 1 utility

Main use interrupting those nasty attacks. Doesn’t work on SA / Immobile mobs

Increases crit by 1% per rank (Any level you want) NOTE Now for Rogue its quiet easy to hit crit cap so be careful not to go over the cap 97% is where you want to stop at. If you manage to go over you can either adjust yo phy crit skill OR adjust emblems whichever works for you.

Thief performs a quick recovery upon getting knocked down hold down key to stay in quick rebound for a longer time has invincible frames. Great for avoiding some combo heavy OTG and gimmicks. MAX

Rogue skills

Allows more hit (s) on EVERYTHING that is specific for Rogue skills. Only exception to this rule is base class rising cut and shining cut both have HE effects on it. Max How to build contact points? Easy just cancel out of any skill the Rogue has a cancel always X attack before a skill to build a contact point get into the habit of it. With the addition of Swiftness you also generate CP via hits meaning you can gain CP just by multi-hitting! [​IMG]

note Roughly 40%-60% of her overall damage done is going to be coming out of HE which means YOU need to manage and build CP effectively and use it effectively as well. So its highly important to master HE and CP gains.

Very fast, wide range single rotation attack to get more swings consumes CP as long as you don’t run out of CP you can keep going! Pref to max

Proper usage must hit action key to get more swings but be warned mashing the action key can cancel out of the skill so go at a set pace.

Rogue spins in place for a multi-hit attack nice AoE. Hit End effect does a huge chunk of damage and it is one yo primary sources of raw damage! Max

Proper usage when wanting to use Hurricane ALWAYS CENTER YO SELF on enemy IMPORTANT TO GET all the damage. Also before using HE on Hurricane wait till near end of its cast then use HE to get all hits.

You can use this at zero CP Why? Simple this skill paired up with Death Hurricane generate max stacks of CP almost instantly thanks to all the multi hit goodness then use HE for that sweet satisfaction.

Rogue jumps in the air in a spiral can either let it end by its self or press action key to slam down. HE effect kicks upwards. Sadly to say this skill is still very lack luster and hard to get all the hits in still. Nice Range and has Super Armor 1 pre-req

Proper usage can either back step > Spiral or just use it on ground. Press action key for slam down then once more for HE effect if wanted

Main use major buff before boss room / finishing move can be used to bunch up mobs and suspend them / more multi hits on basic means easier to get CP via Swiftness

Throw out blades then press key again to rush to blades and slam down! HE effect adds a wide rotation swing! Preference

Proper usage can nearly use this skill at 0 CP because it generates so much CP for max HE stacks! / also able to use it airborne!

Important! While Rogue does have OV sets all of them are kinda ok. Because her best chron set isn’t even a set its all about that Force Hit-End you find in Ov2 the good thing about this is that since it isn’t a 9 piece Ov set you can freely change equipment and is super cheap to afford with frags not to mention Dragon Road dailies also can give Force Hit-End boxes. Yes Force Hit-End ov2 is that important

Important! (sorry its my last important I promise) while I do say Force Hit-End is the best there are other setups that are usable with the right settings below you will 3 OV sets and the set bonus(es) and the right conditions to make it work!

3: The wording on this set is very wonky so I explain it. The reason this 3 piece is effective with right dual blades is simply because it increases weapon atk for DB and HE damage by 50%. While you may look at the 6 and 9 bonuses the HE increases is only for those skills listed. So its best to just fill the rest of yo slots with Force c2 Hit End pieces because you get more value out of it.

So what does this mean exactly? If you want to do huge burst with DB you will need 3 pieces of this set.

3: Lightning Arrow consecutive slash removed now does grab cannon, 50% CD reduction and decreases usage of clear cube by 1

What conditions would this be good in? Having Lightning Arrow not be a cube would be useful in certain gimmicks where you cant cube as well as ToDes / Suju farming / OV / etc.

But of course you want to replace this with Force Hit-End when you compile the pieces!

3: Diving Arrow CD reduction by 20%

Hurricane CD reduced to 30%, damage increased by 30%, hit-end effect damage increase 30%, Mspd increase in hurricane by 50%, AND Death lotus damage increased by 30%

6: Bandit Cut increase in damage by 30%, hit-end damage increased by 30% and CD reduced by 15%

9: Hurricane CD reduction by 30%, Death Lotus firing rate increased by 100%, AND clear cube usage increased by 1

What conditions would this be good in? With the epic dagger Spiral spin Constant attack becomes really great! Further buffing the options on Spiral spin. Spin 2 win.

Best in slot equipment

Note: I will not be compiling a list of best in slot for acc. (because i don’t want to put Jung in that hell hole). As for pink weapons/acc/etc. will not be covering them unless demand needs it. Again this list is popular opinion of a collected amount of Rogue players and in no way is any other armor/weapon/acc/sub/magic not viable Thanks for understanding :)

Chronicle(OV) best: ov2 force hit-end (not a ov2 set)

Liberation weapon

Liberation dagger/DB (lv85): +16% additional dmg (stacks with additional damage %) all additional dmg can stack each other although additional dmgs are based on original dmg only (including increased dmg)

Afterimage of the flame (lv85 legendary dual blade)

Afterimage of the flame (lv85 legendary dual blade): fire ele, 5% proc to buff +5% aspd, +5% mspd, +4% fire additional dmg (can be stacked 3 times, all options are gone when you unarm this weapon)

Top 2 epic best weapons

Top 3 epic best weapons:

  • The end (lv85 dual blade): +24 water ele, water ele enchanted, +50% hit-end dmg rate for each hit-end points (basically saying you get 50% more dmg for hit-end skills)
  • Silver dagger of glorious queen (lv85 dagger): light ele enchanted, +lv2 hit-end, 5% increased dmg for each empty hotkey slot up to 60% dmg 12 empty slots

  • Silver spirit (lv85 dagger, epic) < for temporary buff: +35 light ele, light ele enchanted, sliver stream +lv2, hit-end +lv2, moon arc +lv1, activate rate for moon arc increased by 16.7%, 30% cd reduction of silver stream, 1 more hit-end point retained when you use hit-end skill with silver stream mode. When you cast silver stream, +15% att spd, +15% mov spd, +200 str, +150 att dmg (the one you see on weapon not base str) while silver stream is on cool down (this option deactivates if you disarm) Currently it has a bug on it, and you will still get buff from it even after you switch weapon
Anton raid weapon

Anton raid weapon (all have same option other then cross) 35% increased skill dmg (can be stacked with increased dmg), enchant an ele type with highest +ele you got so far. Absorption for 3 energy when you attack, maximum of 100 when you finish absorption, (Up), (Down) + (Creature command hotkey) can activate the power of ‘The seventh apostle: Anton the fire eater’ (for energy absorption, you get 10 energy deduction if you don’t absorb within 5 sec) (for power release of ‘the seventh apostle: anton the fire eater’, you get 20% increrased skill dmg, double the amount of clear cube frags you use for skills you use with) when the time for releasing power ends, do 10% of dmg you did while you released. (Maximum of 3mil)

Alright some good changes ive done i say so my self. Added OV sets FROM DNF meaning they have been changed slightly or revamped so look forward to that.

Both Dark Soul and Cursed Spear are going to hurt since they’re multihit skills. Waiting for Cursed Spear to cancel itself so you only fire one spear is going to have it’s own problems since you’ll be a sitting duck with super armor up for 5-6 seconds.

You can cancel Cursed Spear by pressing C/whatever your jump hotkey is, so it is a viable option for triggering Delezie's elemental change.

I just tested CURSE SPEAR in dnf and it no longer roots u in place and by god its pretty decent skill it spawns the spears then u press the keys to shoot them out and u have free roam on where u want to move so its pretty good i post a video tomorrow about it lol RIP SA no longer grants it
