    • 'Epithet' added to the left of your character name (applies to Level 90 characters only)
    • Honor system gets rework
    • Explorer Information gets changed
    Honor and Explorer Level is being combined into one system and Arad Explorer Level cap is expanded from 11 to 30.
    New 'Expertise' system is added to every level 90 characters. It can be raised by earning experience.
    Epithet will be added to your character name by accumulating experience.

    • Color will differ depending on the accumulated experience.
    • Challenger → Expert → Pioneer → Master → Legend → Hero
      • Epithet is not shared by account
    Explorer Information

    • (1) Explorer Information, Explorer Characteristic, Explorer Proficiency, Mercenary
    • (2) Explorer Level, Explorer Creation Date, Total Explorer Mercenary Points, Total Character Count
    • (3) Tower Conquest Count, Log-in Count (days), Dungeon Clear Count, Raid Clear Count, Best Character Proficiency, PvP Win Count
      • (3) information will accumulate after the update

    Explorer Reward Revamp
    • Strength/Intelligence/Vitality/Spirit Increase
    • Chronicle Set Droprate Increase
    • Ancient Dungeon Quest Legendary Material Droprate Increase
    • Epic Fragment: Chance of Additional Drop
    • Antonium: Chance of Additional Drop
    • Light Source: Chance of Additional Drop
    • Dungeon Entry Increase (Anton Raid, Joah Ferrero's Voyage Log)
      • Talking about account entry, not individual character entry
    • Dungeon Clear Experience Increase
    Other additional reward (guild dungeon) is also being planned. Make sure to level up your Explorer Level.

    Mercenary
    • Assist (Support) feature is being removed
    • Mercenary Characters can now clear dungeons without worry
    • Check your points before sending out characters (details will be explained below)

    • (1) First select the dungeon area you wish to explore
      • You can only select one dungeon area at a time
    • (2) Click on '+' and select the characters you wish to send out
      • Important: Make sure to check the character's points before forming a team
        • Example: To explore Time Gate for 15 days, it requires 50 points. Therefore you can either send out 5 characters with 10 points each or one character with 50 points.
        • If you send out characters with more points (total) than the required amount, mercenaries will return sooner.

    Joah Ferrero's Voyage Log
    • Joah Ferrero has discovered a new area
      • Weekly dungeon that resets every thursday
      • Only level 50 or higher can participate
      • Doesn't consume any FP
      • 6 entry per account and each dungeon can only be entered 3 times.
        • Maximum entry can be raised to 9 through Explorer Level

    This is the answer to that question basically though^

    These aren't really "bad" updates imo, but its too little too late for this shit. Their revamped Luke Raid was a mess of an update, the Legendary Dungeon still has some flaws and really doesn't serve its purpose that well (at least in my opinion. Nice RNG on top of RNG on top of more RNG), and they say they are reworking classes and then throw this shit at us. That combined with months after months of no even remotely decent events/content, it's all just incredibly annoying to see.

    Edit: But what's bugging me is what it seems like the basis for the backlash is that releasing these features is delaying the awaited features even though it can simply be the work of efficiently split teams. This kind of fallacy is way too common;;

    when did the merc system/assist system come out again? around 2nd Impact? which was like 8 years ago and they're now paying attention to it. but the worst part is removing assists. these devs don't know what to do with their game.

    I can't help but feel kDnF's playerbase may be in a similar place as we are morale wise.
    I consider it an overall gain, though the whole assist removal is really gonna sting in various spots.

    I always figured that kDnF was 1-2 major fuck ups from ruin (mainly from age/other fuck ups), but I didn't know about that factor. I'm now tempted to say it might not handle another Knight/Metastasis fiasco. I certainly hope steam's becoming a thing in their country (just so they'd have something to move on to)

    What's the matter with them going back to old systems and revamping them? Yeah, it was released forever ago, but so?
    It was never intended to be anything major, so they never felt like they needed to do anything more with it. But now they've decided to make it something significant, so they're revamping and modernizing it.
    It doesn't matter how long ago it came out, it's a good thing.

    I really don't know why there'd be backlash for a revamp of an old and forgettable system. I guess because of the loss of the assist system?
    But honestly, that's not too big a deal. You can't even use assists in most if not all of the content that matters in DFO.

    I've already explained it earlier this thread.

    People are pissed because they are fixing something that's not broken instead of the things that actually require serious attention.

    Nobody really cares what they do with assist/honor/explorer (at least for me). Its the fact that they are choosing to focus on this useless shit instead of other major things that's causing a lot of backlash

    That's understandable... but just because this is being released right now doesn't mean they're ignoring everything else for it.
    For all we know this is something that's been baking in the back for a while and they've put the finishing touches on it. If that's the case, why wait until everything else is "finished" to release it? Just drop it and resume work on the main stuff.
    Now maybe I'm wrong and they did swap all focus to it, while other things need that focus more. If that is the case then that's unfortunate and a bad call on Neople's part, but nonetheless, this revamp is a good thing. It only serves to benefit everyone.
