I would like to know how I could make at least partially soggy bread pleasant to the touch so I could enjoy a sandwich from a shop.

EDIT: I came across a source that mentions salting tomatoes to prevent soggy sandwiches, and now I'm thinking that applying salt (most likely pink Himalayan salt) to the soggy parts could make the sandwich more pleasant to touch.

I have since gone for burritos and even a different sandwich-serving establishment.

Toast it and place a layer between the watery item and the bread (cheese, onions, etc). Use condiments so that water doesnt contact the bread.

I'm talking about a store-brought sandwich here, not a homemade one, but still.
