6-Piece Sudden Annihilation is best iirc. And yes, there are C2 Sub equips and Magic Stones.

Hell on Earth looks way better than Sudden Annihilation. Especially after second awakes.

Or am I misunderstanding how AJ works?

I can't say for sure, but all the FLaunchers I saw running Anton raid were using Sudden Annihilation. Lemme attempt to get specifics and I'll get back to you.

hypothetically you could get the 6 piece set and then get 3 regular chrons to reduce flame pillar cooldown, i guess?

Of course I can just assume things since I don't actually have much of a clue (yet), but it seems Sudden Annihilation allows spamming heavy weapons more, which you want to keep Heavy Firearms Mastery up. And since you can just push out more weapons in the same time-frame, you don't have that much of a need for a longer Mastery-buff duration?

Why 6 piece Sudden Annihilation is the best set in DnF endgame currently-

    1. Flamethrower and Fire Pillar become your core skills with this setup. You can basically rotate Flamethrower -> Fire Pillar -> 1-2 skills -> Flamethrower over and over. Rotationz.

    2. The '-X% firing duration' on Fire Pillar and Flamethrower is counterbalanced by AJ reinforcement's +0.7s duration on the blue flames part, because that 0.7s of blue flames is on the AJ passive, not added to the skill, so Sudden Annihilation doesn't reduce that duration. You literally get +0.7s of extra flames with bonus damage from the set. Freeeeeebies.

    3. As far as classes that "need" chrons to function in Raid go, any class that functions with a 6-piece set is ahead of the curve over classes that need 9-piece set, because it opens up more slots for them to wear legendary/epic equipment on off-slots.
    - In FLauncher's case, 6pc Sudden Anni's damage boost to the flamethrowers outdoes basically any other 6pc setup. Then since your core skills are your two flamethrowers, you can pretty much just stack +fire damage equips.

    4. Even without a hold slave class, in areas where hitstun is a dependant method of 'holding' (see: whatever area(s) that viper-slave mechs can enter, since their entire purpose is hitstunning things as a psuedo-hold) AJ reinforcement also gives +hitstun to the flame skills (and gatling). I don't even know if this part is relevant anymore because of Raid's infinite hold protection BS but since I see viper hitstun mech slaves still in Raid so FLauncher being popular can possibly have an attribute here as well.

The class has popped up a ton recently with this setup and it's just popular. The last 2-3 times I spied on koreans in Raid channel there was a Storm Trooper with 6pc Annihilation+stuff in maybe every 1 out of 5 parties? It's just by far the best launcher setup for what raid needs. Best damage rotation you'll get out of a 6pc chron set. Low-cd rotations and the multi-hit damage is just absurd.

This video is before the infinite hold protection add, but the fact that this party can effectively run through Raid bosses with Sader/FGrap as the support system (god bless infinite Neck Snap) and 2 FLaunchers as the core damage is impressive. Even with being able to 'infinitely' hold down a boss, you can still shit out on the raid if you don't do enough damage to kill bosses in time. Flames put out the numbers hard in this video, lol.

Dunno if it's 2nd awakening related or not but heavy firearms mastery isn't supposed to tick down if you're holding any sub weapon skill. The only time it should is if you're not attacking at all. So yes, it's one of many bugged skills in our version.

There's a lot I want to say here and in the general thread, but I can't easily do that due to current circumstances. Ark's explanation is roughly what I would have said. Anton raid keeps getting rebalanced, but watching this one Anton raid party of four Storm Troopers immolating everything gives you an idea:

Regarding the details of Storm Trooper abilities, I discussed that a lot at DFO Core. Launcher damage calculation has always been complicated due to their abundance of hybrid damage and interesting chronicle options. Female Launcher has a lot she can do; the one thing I wouldn't recommend is a light damage build because there's very little support for it and Destroyer outclasses us entirely with those builds because his Laser Rifle is far stronger. Even though Overheat and AJ Enhancement Parts give it a decent damage increase, it's not enough.

As powerful as Flamethrower and Hellfire are, Gatling Gun is still excellent and gets amazing boosts from chronicle equipment. With nothing, it's still stronger than every skill you have that is level 25 or lower, including Charged Laser Rifle. I personally plan to use Steel Vulcan 3 or Hell on Earth 3 + Sudden Annihilation which gives it 100% piercing with Gatling Gun Upgrade [5] and a huge increase in power with AJ Enhancement Parts which increases Gatling Gun damage by an enormous 56-60.5% alone.

It's not bugged; that's from the second awakening rebalance that we don't have yet. Our set of rebalances only go as far as Priest second awakening.

I can see gatling getting really good with the shorter duration, much like Grenade Launcher's TP passive. I'm curious to see how it plays out if/when I ever get to that point.

Gatling Gun's duration never bothered me. Grenade Launcher is a different story and what makes it so annoying without the upgrade is the recoil, duration, and inability to cancel it. Fortunately, second awakening rebalance reduces the recoil and the firing interval. Alpha Support reduces the recoil too. I feel like Destroyer has the edge with this skill because Heavy Weapon Alteration does nice things for this skill and he can comfortably use Saturation Bomb 9 which fires 5 grenades with his upgrade. For us, it would go back to 8. The lack of Grenade Launcher (or more Steyr) on Splintershell is pretty disappointing, but I guess they didn't want it to have much due to its Eagle Eye boosts.

hell on earth and saturation bomb had minor changes to heavy firearm mastery
both 6 piece bonus is now +1 max stack
and 3 piece bonus of hell on earth is 0.5% additional damage per stack
so 1.5% additional damage on male and 2% on female

Depending on the changes to the combined interaction of Eagle Eye, Overheat, and Heavy Firearm Mastery, this may change my plans a bit.

I really don't know which set to collect but I'm thinking about sudden annihilation since I use flame pillar and charged laser a lot.

    Just read the thread.
With that set, you're probably not going to be using Laser much anymore... Actually, unless you give up some good skills, won't even have it leveled post-second awake. I remember that I took a look at a second awakening planner and there was a lot less SP to work with.

Flame Pillar, Flamethrower, and Gatling are going to be your friends.

Friends forever. I should find a picture of a launcher talking to her sub weapons all like "You're my only friends."
Also I'm thinking about 3 Sudden Annihilation and 6 Hell on Earth.

It wouldn't be a bad choice per se, but after the explanation about how AJ Reinforced Parts works with the sets I would say Sudden Annihilation 6 set is better than Hell on Earth 6 set.

Yes, I would love to hold Flame Pillar for longer too, but it's apparently just not as much output. Besides, swapping through your subweapons real fast with SA looks pretty fun as well.
